Together we heal, learn and shine

On World Refugee Day, marked annually on June 20 and dedicated to raising awareness to the plight of refugees throughout the world.

Let us remember that behind the word ‘refugees’ there are people, who were forced to leave their homes and hopes, their families and memories behind in search for a new, safe home. Behind the word ‘refugees’ there are mothers and fathers, grandparents and grandchildren, doctors, teachers and students. There is a lot behind the word ‘refugees’, as nobody leaves their home unless they are forced to leave their home.

Join us in spreading more awareness, join us in raising their voice and join us in making a difference. Big or small- at least we start somewhere.

This years’ theme by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is “Together we heal, learn and shine”.

Today, tomorrow, after and every day we want to keep shedding the light on the importance of girls’ education, as Education is the key to ensure a better future for each child with many possibilities. Education is a pillar of our mission.

Since December, when we launched our ongoing campaign“education, A Better Future” in Pakistan to help and empower Afghan refugee girls and internally displaced Pakistani children, we managed to help and support hundreds of students, so far in four makeshift schools on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital.

The campaign came to life from the proceeds of a flash fine-art print sale donated by National Geographic photojournalist Muhammed Muheisen, a two-time Pulitzer prize winner and the founder of Everyday Refugees Foundation, the goal is a long-term commitment to support and empower as many children as possible to have their basic right of education.

Education is a pillar of our mission and the key to ensure a better future for each child with many possibilities.
