Hand in Hand
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, a little over 6 million women children and the elderly have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries. Since March 4, a team of Everyday Refugees Foundation has been on the ground at the Romanian-Ukrainian border to help and support people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
On March 15 we headed to Suceava train station, about 43 kilometers from the Romanian-Ukrainian border, to distribute outdoor footwear from KEEN Europe to Ukrainian refugee women and children waiting to board a train to the Romanian capital.
On March 16, we continued distributing hundreds more of KEEN outdoor footwear at the Romanian-Ukrainian border to women and children shortly after crossing the border to Romania.
On the evening of March 16, we handed a couple of hundred more of KEEN footwear to children and women at Mandachi hotel which offers free accommodation to Ukrainian refugees in Suceava.
On the evening of March 19, we handed 70 pairs of KEEN footwear to children and women at a sports center turned into a shelter for people fleeing the war in Ukraine in Otopeni near the Romanian capital.
More than 600 pairs of outdoor footwear from KEEN Europe were distributed by our team in the last week, part of our project “Hand in Hand” to help and support those who were forced to leave their homes and families in search for a new, safe home.
